Do you have problems in your life? Characters in books have problems, too, and always seem to find solutions. Learn about problems and solutions and write your own story, too! Should be no problem!
Let’s explore.
Fiction stories have story elements.
Elements are different parts that make up the story, like ingredients in a recipe.
These story elements include characters, the setting, a problem, and a solution. Understanding story elements can help you become a better reader.
In this lesson, you will explore finding the problem and solution in fictional stories.
In a story, the problem and solution fit together like a puzzle. The problem is the conflict that a character faces during the story; it's what makes the story exciting! The problem sometimes appears in the middle of the story.
The solution is how the character solves the problem. The solution can also be called the resolution. Finding the problem and solution in a story is an important part of understanding what you read.
