You are going to plan a trip!
When planning a trip, there are lots of decisions that need to be made. You must decide where to go, how to get there, where to stay, how long to stay, how much money to spend, what types of activities to do, what kind of transportation to use, etc.
What is the key to a successful trip?
Planning!
This is the same for planning your future. There are many decisions to be made about your future; the key to getting there is planning.
The best way to plan for your future career is with a career portfolio.
A career portfolio visually represents your abilities, skills, knowledge, and qualities. It shows your potential.
The portfolio provides evidence of your potential by demonstrating what you accomplished in the past. Your career portfolio offers a convenient place to record your personal development.
Remember that you may have developed skills that are now work-related while playing team sports, pursuing hobbies or volunteer activities, or simply pursuing your interests.
It can assist you in making good decisions about your future while planning effective strategies for achieving your academic and career goals.
It’s important to note that portfolios do not replace résumés.
A résumé summarizes your skills, education, experience, and accomplishments. It is a snapshot of who you are. A résumé should be included in your portfolio.
