If you have lots of coins in your piggy bank or want to count your zillions of social media friends, you want to add accurately! Learn how easy it is to add 4-digit numbers and make your own problems!
Wow! You were cleaning your room and found a jar full of coins! There were 2,456 pennies in one jar and 4,111 pennies in your piggy bank already. How many pennies do you have?
Adding large numbers may seem difficult, but if you can add two- and three-digit numbers, you can add larger numbers with four digits!
When adding four-digit numbers, be sure to line up the place values and decimal point if there is one. Also, don't forget to include a comma with numbers that are in the thousands place! For example:
