Without looking at a map, name as many countries in Eastern Europe as you can. How many can you get? Why is this important?
For people who grew up in the years of the late twentieth and early twenty-first century, Europe might have seemed like one big, happy continent.
Its people seem to share common racial, religious, and cultural roots. Just below the surface, though, there is a rich historical diversity throughout Europe. One of the groups of people who call Europe home are the Slavs.
The origin of the Slavic peoples is kind of a mystery. Find out more about the Slavs, their origins, their cultures, and their languages. As you read the article, Slavs, by Christian Violatti, courtesy of Ancient History Encyclopedia, write down information to answer the following questions:
