Lesson Plan - Get It!

If you have studied the previous lessons in our Location series, you have learned so much about the positions of different objects!

In this lesson, you will learn about things that are on the left and things that are on the right.

1. Place both of your hands on the table.
2. Either stamp, mark, or place a sticker on your left hand. This will help you remember which hand is your left hand.
3. Another great way to remember which hand is your left hand is to put down all of your fingers except your pointer finger and your thumb. If you look at your pointer finger and your thumb it should create a capital "L". "Left" starts with an "L."

In the beginning of the lesson, you were asked, "What does the monkey on the left look like?"

Now that you know which hand is your left hand, try to use that clue to help you figure out which monkey is on the left.

The tan monkey is on the left. The black monkey is on the right.

Take a look at another example. There are two kittens below.

• Which kitten is on the right?

Don't forget, you marked your left hand, so you can use this to figure out which kitten is on the left:

The brown kitten is on the right. The orange kitten is on the left.

Look at the two lions below.

• Which one is on the left?

The lion with the big mane is on the right. The lion without a mane is on the left.

Take a look at one last example. There are two ducks in the picture below.

• Which one is on the right?

The duck with the brown head is on the right. The duck with the green head is on the left.
