Street names are very important because they help people in many ways. Street names are posted on street signs. Street signs can be used to help people get from place to place without getting lost. They help emergency services, like police officers and fire fighters, help people in danger.

The community helper above is called a mailman or a postal worker. Postal workers use street names to deliver mail to the right homes. Without street names and house numbers, they would have a lot of trouble delivering mail to the right people!
