Calendars can be used to figure out what day it is, what month it is, and when special events or holidays are happening.

• Do you know how many months are in a year?

There are twelve months in a year.

• January
• February
• March
• April
• May
• June
• July
• August
• September
• October
• November
• December

Those are all of the months of the year!

• Do you know what month it is now?

All months include all the days of the week.

• What are they days of the week?

The days of the week are: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!

One important reason to know the month is so you can know when special holidays are coming up.

• What are some holidays you celebrate?

Calendars help people remember when they have to go to appointments and celebrate holidays, and they even help people know what type of weather to expect when it is a certain month.

• How does the weather by you change throughout the year?
• Does it stay the same all-year-round or does it change?

Think about the seasons and the months that go together.
